A bronze work by the Savignanese sculptor Giuseppe Graziosi, the statue of the "Bagnante", renamed "Giuditta" by the Bazzanese, was placed in the center of the fountain commissioned from the artist in 1914 to complete the arrangement of the square. The controversy raised by the statue's nudity led to its removal a few years later. Only in 1989 was the statue relocated outside the town hall, where it had been kept all that time.

In Piazza dei Contrari, just across from the Rocca, is Palazzo Contrari-Boncompagni, better known as Palazzo Barozzi because of its delightful spiral staircase designed by the architect Jacopo Barozzi. A masterpiece of architecture of the 1500s, the staircase is a striking, self-supporting structure in the shape of a sinuous spiral with 106 steps.
