Itinerary
Discover Ravello, the "Terrace" of the Amalfi Coast! Lovely little village discovered and appreciated by English poets and writers of the past. For more than seven centuries, it has attracted celebrities, from St.Francis to the Renaissance Italian writer Boccaccio. Richard Wagner composed the second act of the opera Parsifal in 1880, and D.H. Lawrence wrote Lady Chatterley’s Lover in 1927. Gore Vidal, the noted American author, lived and wrote in Ravello for over thirty years, eventually becoming an honorary citizen. It has been the set for masterpiece movie scripts, like Beat the Devil by Truman Capote, which was written here, with the actor Humphrey Bogart and Greta Garbo. Free visit
Duration: 60 minutes
The participants will have the chance to visit on their own, Amalfi. It was one of the 4 Maritime Republic of Italy, cities with powerful fleets dominating the trade routes of the Mediterranean (others were Venice, Pisa and Genova), and this brought to the city wealth and power, especially in the X and XI centuries, when Amalfi was at the height of its power. Do not miss to visit the Romanic Church of St.Andrew
Duration: 60 minutes
From the pickup place of the Participants, to reach Amalfi and Positano, we will join the ride along the Amalfi coast, one of the most stunning coasts of the world. Dramatic cliffs and superb panorama with gorgeous mountains with lemon-growing terraces overlooking the sea will make this ride unique!
The town has long been established as one of the top destinations on the Italian coast and has a reputation for attracting the jet-set crowd. Many restaurants, shops and boutiques cater to the wealthier crowd here, with shops selling clothes, shoes and local handicrafts, something of the local speciality. In the lower part of town, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta was renovated in Baroque style, and its dome was beautifully covered in glazed majolica tiles. Inside, it contains a painting of the Black Madonna. This is thought to have been brought to the church by monks from Constantinople in the 12th century.
Duration: 120 minutes
