The Municipal Theater of Modena, built starting in 1841 during the dukedom of Francesco IV, was designed by the architect Francesco Vandelli. After the death of Luciano Pavarotti, the theater was named in his name to honor the memory and exceptional career of the famous tenor from Modena, considered one of the greatest interpreters of opera of the 20th century.
