The Church of the Holy Annunciation of the Catalans is a precious example of Norman architecture, built between 1150 and 1200. It stands on the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Neptune, which was once a place of worship frequented by sailors who came to the city and offered tributes as a sign of devotion.
The Stele of the Madonna of the Letter, which dominates the port of Messina is 53.50 meters high, and is the largest statue dedicated to Mary in all of Sicily. It stands in a strategic point, linked to the myth of Cronus and the history of the city. An amazing symbol of this city!
