Itinerary
The Basilica of San Domenico is located on the slopes of the historic center of Siena, framed by the houses that "climb" under the Duomo, it is among the most important churches in the city especially for its link with the life of Saint Catherine of Siena.
Built between 1226 and 1265 and enlarged during the fourteenth century, the Basilica of San Domenico has undergone numerous vicissitudes over the centuries, fires, military occupations, earthquakes, interventions and modifications, which have led to its unmistakable Gothic style appearance being defined Cistercian and is characterized by an original relationship between exterior and interior.

Built between 1214 and 1263, it has a Latin cross structure, a not very protruding dome with the bell tower next to it. Both the exterior and the interior are decorated in blocks of white marble which are alternated with thinner greenish black stripes, these are the representative colors of Siena.

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena. “The City of the Hundred Towers” and it still maintains its original features and timeless charm. Furthermore, the name ‘San Gimignano’ is linked to one of the most historical Tuscan wines:” La Vernaccia di San Gimignano”. Arriving in San Gimignano you will explore its charming medieval streets, visit the old center of this wonderful city where the famous Chianti wine is produced.
